ASL Adaptation of Balance and Fall Risks Self-Report Measures

Chiz Tamaki and Janis Cole at Vestibular and Balance Lab need help from Deaf adults!

We adapted questionnaires into ASL, and we want to make sure they accurately measure what they are supposed to measure.

Who can participate?

Deaf adults, 50 years or older.

What does participation look like?

Participants will complete online surveys recorded in ASL and, if interested, complete vestibular and balance testing at the Gallaudet University Hearing and Speech Center. Participants can take part in just the online portion or both online and onsite portions.

Payment

Participants will receive $50 upon completion of the online portion and $120 upon completion of the onsite portion at Gallaudet University. In some occasions, the research team may travel to your community instead of having you travel to Gallaudet - you will receive $100 for the off-site participation.
